Manual - BDSM - Slave
: Throughout this section, we refer to "owner" and "slave", since that is the mechanism used within the game to establish a Dom/me - sub relationship. Players are of course free to use whatever terms they wish and which best fit the nature of their relationship - owner, Dom/me, Master/Mistress, etc, and slave, sub, pet, etc.
Don't mistake the Submission skill for Maso urge. The urge is the desire to reach orgasm through pain and is something that comes automatically with certain orgasmic situations, whereas the Submission skill is trained and learned like any other skill. Each level of the skill gives you another feature, and the features are ordered in such a way that you give up more and more self-control, the higher the skill level.
If you are an owned slave, then a percentage of the XP you make will go to your owner instead of you. This percentage increases with each level of the Submission skill, up to 20% of all XP you make. If an owner does not log in for 2 weeks realtime, their slaves will be automatically set free.
Note that on no level is the murder crime waived! If an owner permakills one of their slaves, a regular murder crime will be generated.
Let's review the consequences of each level.
Once you have acquired the Submission skill, you can offer yourself as a slave/sub to another character (they must have at least level 1 of the Dominance skill). As soon as you obtain Submission level 1 you receive a slave leash in your inventory (it looks like a blue chain). This leash can not be dropped, stolen, destroyed or traded. In order to offer yourself, click on the desired character to select them, then double click the slave leash. This will open a dialog for the other character, asking them to accept the offer (technically, they are asked to accept the purchase of a slave (you) for 0 credits). If they accept, they receive a slave deed in their inventory which will give them certain control over you as their slave. They don't need to carry this deed around. In fact it's advisable to store it in their vault so that it can't be stolen.
Once they have accepted your offer, the owner/slave relationship is established. As a consequence of that, the slave can not prevent being held by their owner, or being used for sex by them. They can not break free from the hold either, or declare their owner as an abuser/hostile.
At this level of the Submission skill, the owner/slave bond is a loose one. It can be terminated by either character without requiring the agreement of the other. The owner can simply destroy the slave deed, or the slave can simply bring up the slave dialog by double clicking their slave leash and click on
At this level, the owner can sell the slave to another character. In order to do so, the owner clicks on the character they want to sell their slave to (again, this character must have at least level 1 of the Dominance skill), then double clicks the slave leash of the slave they want to sell:
They can then set the purchase price by entering the amount then clicking the
button. After they have done that, they click on the
Sell To Selected Character
button, which will bring up a dialog on the other character's screen where they can see the name of the slave, the price and decide whether to buy or not.
At this level, the owner can also create a Deed Of Sale for a slave, to enable someone else to sell the slave on their behalf (e.g. at a slave auction). The owner does this by first setting a price on the slave as described above, then clicking on the character they want to act on their behalf, then double clicking on the slave leash and clicking on the
Make Character Sales Agent
button. The selected character then receives a deed that allows them to sell the slave on behalf of the owner. They do so by clicking on the buyer, then double clicking the Slave Sales Deed in their inventory. That will bring up the following dialog, where they can then click on the Sell To Selected Character button:
This mechanism is intended for slave auctions where one character acts as the seller for a number of slaves, who don't even have to be online.
At any time, the owner can destroy all Deeds Of Sale they have handed out, by clicking the respective button on his slave owner's dialog.
Note that at this level, the slave can still terminate the owner/slave relationship just as on level 1. As a result, buying a level 2 slave is a financial risk for the buyer if it is done without the slave's consent (since the slave can simply terminate the new owner/slave relationship if they wish), and potential purchasers may well insist on a slave learning level 3 of the Submission skill if the owner intends to sell the slave without the slave's consent.
At this level a slave can no longer terminate their relationship with their owner. This is a major change in the relationship, and as a result obtaining level 3 of the Submission skill is seen as a major milestone in the slave/owner relationship.
Also at this level, the owner is able to brand the slave's body. Please see the
section for a detailed explanation. Brands can subsequently be removed by a special potion made by a biochemist. Note that it isn't possible to remove just some brands - the potion will remove all brands from the character's body.
At level 4 of the Submission skill, a slave can be captured by another character (who must have level 4 of the Dominance skill). This capture is possible against the slave's will, and forcibly transfers the slave's leash to their captor. In order to do this, you have to take the slave to an
Ancient mind control altar
. These are ancient machines that can be found here and there in London. You must be holding the slave and you must have a canister of Mind Control Fluid in your inventory. Then, double click on the mind control altar. You will see a message informing you whether the attempt succeeded or not. The chance of success is 75%, and if you don't succeed you can not make another attempt that same day.
If the capture succeeds, the slave's leash is transferred to their captor, and their captor becomes the slave's owner. This might, of course. have unpleasant consequences for the slave, depending on the new owner and their reasons for capturing the slave, but it is part of the BDSM roleplay, and a player should bear this in mind when deciding whether or not to learn the Submission skill to this level.
Players are absolutely entitled to steal back a slave or to kill an owner in order to free the slave (although this will still create a murder crime). Being captured in this way, or facing the in-game consequences of capturing someone else's slave, are no reasons for a "grief" call. They are all acceptable elements of roleplay within the game.
